Keema Matar (Indian ground beef curry with peas)

Serves: Feeds a small family for 3 days- the leftovers get better and better each day! (:
Ingredients
9 Tbsp
oil for sautéing
3 tsp
cumin seeds
1 large
onion, chopped
1/4 cup
minced garlic paste
3 inches
fresh ginger, peeled, and minced
3 pounds
Green Family Farm's ground beef
2 14.5oz cans
petite diced tomato
1 bunch
green chili peppers, and fresh curry leaves
1/4 cup
whole milk greek yogurt
3 tsp
coriander powder
1.5 tsp
turmeric powder
2 tsp
red chili powder
1 Tbsp
himalayan pink salt
3 cups
frozen green peas, thawed
1 tsp
garam masala powder
1 bunch
cilantro, chopped

garnish w/ extra cilantro, lime wedge, and/or greek yogurt
Step by Step Instructions
- Sauté the onion and cumin seeds in the oil. Add in the garlic and ginger, and continue cooking for 1 minute.
- Add the ground beef, and cook fully.
- Next, add the tomatoes, peppers, curry leaves, yogurt, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- To finish, add the peas, cilantro, and garam masala powder, and simmer a few more minutes.
- Serve with rice or bread, and garnish with extra cilantro, lime wedge, and/or more greek yogurt!
